Frequently Asked Question

The Portfolio has two options for recording periodontal indices. Depending on which procedures you carried out on clinic you will enter one or the other.

You should choose Full Periodontal Assessment if you have carried out ALL of the periodontal indices for a patient in a single visit. A Full Periodontal Assessment consists of:

• Mobility Index
• Furcation
• 6 Point Charting
• Bleeding Index
• Plaque Index
• Recession Index

If you have carried out a subset of one or more of the above indices (but not all of them), you should add a single Indices entry to your visit on the Portfolio and then note in the description which specifically you carried out.

NB You should only add one Indices entry OR one Full Periodontal Assessment per visit. A single patient visit should only ever contribute one towards your Indices target.
